Mahindra auto sales have a negative flair to it; FY 2015 sales 464848 units

Mahindra did not have an impressive financial year 2014-15. Overall it posted a negative growth of 8pc(-) for the year compared to the 2013-14. The company sold 4,64,848 units (domestic sales including exports) for FY 2015 as compared to 5,07,176 units in FY 2014. This included sales of passenger vehicles (utility vehicles and Verito), commercial four-wheelers (passenger and load carrier), three-wheelers and LCV/HCVs.

Among the various segments, passenger vehicles sales for the fiscal declined by 8pc to 210021 units (229155 units), four wheeler commercial (passenger and load) sales declined by 10pc (-) to 158957 units (177587 units), three wheelers de grew by 9pc to 56764 units (62614 units) and LCV & HCV slumped by 9pc (-) to 8910 units (8161 units).

The figures were equally dismal for the month of March 2015. The company recorded a degrowth of 12pc (-) for the month when total sales stood at 45,212 units (51636). While total domestic sales slumped by 15pc (-) to 41193 units (48490 units), exports grew by 28pc to 4019 units (3146 units).
